About Kingdom Research

My name is Martin Robert Gorrie. I have over 30 years experience researching family trees as both a hobby and professionally. I have an MA degree from the nearby University of St. Andrews in 2014 including modules in Scottish Medieval History, Scottish Modern History, European Medieval History, European Modern History and Art History. Subjects studied included Castles, Vikings, Lordship, Highlands of Scotland, Clearances, Jacobites and the First and Second World Wars.

In June 2025 I will receive a Master of Letters MLitt degree from Dundee University in Family and Local History. The modules studied include Military Archives, House History, Paleography, Heraldry, Latin and Skills and Sources for Family History in both Scotland and England.

I am the only qualified genealogist living in the East Neuk of Fife. I can visit archive centres, libraries and museums in Fife, Edinburgh and Dundee to help with your research, if required. I can also take digital photographs of locations throughout Fife including buildings, gravestones and memorials.

Please email me if you have any requests or complete the contact form and I will respond within 24 hours.
